I must be super lucky then. I am having the wedding at my parent's church. The building is not super pretty, but is going to be less than $300 for ceremony and reception. That also includes tables chairs, linens, and kitchen facilities (we are going to be cooking our own food, not catering). Definitly if you have the option of doing it at your church or sometimes a community center, go for it, but if not, the prices that you were talking of are abouit what I have seen.
