I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this so maybe it's just my time to vent but we're getting married in 7 mo and just sent out our save the dates. We are paying $175 pp plus a tremendous venue fee. My dad is giving us maybe half the money and we're taking second and third mortgages to pay the rest. I asked my dad if we were leaving anyone out as we're strictly inviting just family, our friends and that's basically it. I told my dad we are inviting 1 or 2 family friends that I literally grew up with. I asked my mom the same question and was told she wants to invite a girl she works with and her husband. I have never ever met this woman in the 6 mo she knows my mom and she seriously couldn't pick me out of a line up of 2 people. I tried telling her that we cannot afford to invite them but she's getting mad that none of her friends will be there and she wants her friends there. She ignored when I asked her to invite family friends I grew up with so I'm at least more comfortable paying $350 extra. My mom isn't chipping in and knows how tight it's going to be so I think it's 100% ridiculous. She asked the lady today for her address so I'm sure she told her she's invited. My mom just has a habit of not thinking things through and just doing things to make everyone else happy regardless of messing up others. It's just making me be in a bad mood bc I know it's going to be a fight....
