I've never actually been to a wedding like this, but I would imagine that's what it would be like. Either that or maybe half the room would be set up with tables for the reception and the other half set up with chairs for the ceremony. I don't think there's any right or wrong way to do this. Whatever you want and whatever will work for the venue you choose.
