Brandon and I got engaged on October 6, 2007....and here's our story...

Brandon was home on leave for 2 weeks in October 2006 (He's in the Navy). I had just gone home to pick Brandon up to bring him back to Columbus. That first weekend, we made a small road trip to Toledo to visit our friends Jen and Chris. We spent the early portion of the day shopping for the night ahead of us. Chris and Brandon were taking Jen and I out for a nice dinner to celebrate Brandon being home and us all being together. It had been a long time and we enjoyed our day together. Late afternoon came around, and we began the getting ready process. Jen and I dressed up in our black dresses while Chris and Brandon wore their dress pants and ties. The boys treated us to a restaurant called the “Navy Bistro”. It was a nice restaurant located along the Maumee River. The view was amazing! The inside of the restaurant couldn’t have been more perfect. It was decked out in Navy gear. There were anchors, ships, sailor attire, and anything else that you could think of that had to do with the Navy. The mood was very romantic with oil lamps and the sunset in the background. We enjoyed a very filling dinner. We both ordered one of our favorite dishes: filet mignon. It was followed up with the richest chocolate cake any of us had ever had. We were stuffed. So we ended the night with a walk along the boardwalk, at sunset. We got past the restaurant when Brandon bent down to tie his shoe that had come “untied”. When he rose up, he didn’t stand. He got down on one knee and I instantly gasped! He popped the question that I had waited a long time to hear. And of course I said YES! I have never been so happy.
