Re: An usher's job
I agree. I am having my younger brother who will turn 13 just before the wedding be an usher, but not stand up with the groom. He was honored to be asked to do something important on our big day (its my 20 year old brother I am worried about not even showing up to perform his responsibilities). As for the ring bearer, who says you have to have one? I am forgoing the entire ring bearer/flower girl thing just because A) we don't have any young family members and B) younger children who are the proper age for such duties are usually very uncooperative in the first place, but that's just us. If you want a ring bearer go for it.
