Wow! I just joined this site and read through everything that you have been through with the family in law. I am so sorry that you had to go through all of this! I am kind of experiencing the same thing with my family to be as well. Our wedding date is June 28th and his family just keeps meddling in things that aren't really their business. My fiance's family comes from money and although my family is what I would call upper-middle class, his mother feels that I am not of the "proper" upbringing for her son. When we first got engaged, she would make comments to my fiance like " I'm just pleasantly surprised by this engagement! Hmm... Who would I have pictured you marrying..?" She constantly calls me by his ex-girlfriend's name and she brings up his ex at family gatherings, dinners with my family, and other social gatherings. She constantly makes me feel like I am not good enough. When we chose our wedding colors for the wedding (bright pink & a pale yellow... both summery colors). She was not happy. She would have "preferred blue and pink" since blue is my fiance's favorite color. i'm like ... this is a marriage... not a baby shower! So I feel for you! I have such a crummy relationship with my in-laws.
