Hi,
Okay I'm totally going to repeat something I just posted to someone else... So if you already read that post sorry to be reptitive. I just got really great jewelry made for my BMs and want to share this awesome idea with other brides.
One of my FSIL's best friends is a jewelry designer. She used to be a psychologist, so she designs one-of-a-kind jewelry and then includes a note with each piece describing the significance of the stones that she used and how they represent the relationship the bride has with her bridesmaids.
For me, she made pieces for each of my bridesmaids that was in the wedding colors so it matched their dresses but the shapes she used was different for each BM - so it matched both their outfits and their personality. It was awesome.
Here, I'm going to copy for you what she said in the letter she wrote with each of my BMs necklaces:
As bridesmaids are the women the bride is closest to, bridesmaid necklaces are a celebration of the relationships we have with the women we cherish. The stones that were selected for your necklace were chosen for their traditional symbolism, which is a reflection of these relationships.
Cherry quartz is said to have a calming effect, to remove negativity, and to strengthen our ability to love ourselves. This is symbolic of what we, as sisters and friends, do for each other – we are there for each other through the bad times; we ease the sorrows; and we encourage one another to love ourselves just the way we are.
Iolite is said to be a stone of self expression, which helps us express our true self, regardless of the expectations of those around us.
With these gemstones as the key stones in your necklace, the symbolism of this necklace is:
“May you always be surrounded by people who love you just the way you are.”
“May they see your true worth, encourage you to express your true self, and value you for who you are.“
I hope you enjoy this necklace, both on the bride’s wedding day as well as for years to come.
It's honestly, so awesome I'm almost as excited about my BM gifts as about the wedding. They really are women I'm super close to, so it's totally amazing to work with a designer who can find a way to create a beautiful piece of jewelry for them, and also find a way to say better than I could how much they mean to me.
