This past July, my fiance (he was only my boyfriend then) went to Disney in Orlando with some friends of ours, who are also a couple. I knew my DF had the ring, but had no idea when he was going to propose. I'd had fleeting thoughts about it maybe happening at Disney...but chose to ignore them. Ah, denial...it ain't just a river in Egypt;-) Anuyway, our friends flew down, but we decided to drive so we could see my grandparents before meeting our friends in Orlando. On the way down, my DF mentioned that our friends had "ditched" us for dinner one night in favor of going on their own romantic dinner, so he said we had reservations at the restaurant in Epcot called "The Coral Reef." I was disappointed we wouldn't be having dinner with our friends, but not so disappointed that I wasn't looking forward to having our own romantic dinner;-) So anyway, we get there and it's beautiful. If you've never been, it's all sea-themed, and one whole wall looks into an aquarium filled with sea creatures and the occasional diver. So it's only moments after we get there that they seat us...and right next to the aquarium, no less! I asked my DF if he'd requested the table or if we'd gotten lucky...and of course, he said we'd just gotten lucky, that sly so-and-so

So we order our appetizers and they come, and we're chatting and watching the fish...and I'm not the most observant person ever, so it didn't really occur to me until later that he was watching the tank pretty intently. So about halfway through our appetizers, a diver swims by and gives us a wave...and then I notice that he isn't leaving...so I wave again. This is when he takes out a sign that says "KatieGirl*, I love you." At this point, the whole restaurant is watching and they go "Awww!" And then he turns the sign over as my DF gets down on one knee, and this side says "Will you marry me?" I don't think I actually said yes. I was too speechless. I just nodded and hugged him and shook as he put the ring on my finger...and only after that, did I notice that people were taking pictures of us and applauding;-) It was pretty amazing. Not many people can say they got engaged in Disney! His other choice was to take me to Universal studios and propose just as Jaws popped out of the water (hehehe;-)). But apparently, he'd been planning it for weeks using many covert phone calls that had him sneaking out of the room...and I suspected nothing. Which is just how I like it!
