Cruises are a great idea for a honeymoon on a budget!!! Cruising is a great way to see multiple places without having to book all kinds of separate parts to your travel and your food (and non-alcoholic beverages) is included. Most ships even serve a house wine with dinner now, but other than that you will need to purchase additional beverages. There are a few things to beware of though...
1. The cabins are small on almost every ship and you might be okay with that, but make sure the hubby-to-be is also. My husband is 6'2" and it would be a hard week for him in such small quarters. I would suggest at least an oceanview or balcony if your budget permits.
2. The cruise may do something small, but most of the extra perks associated with honeymoon travel are part of packages that are purchased. Like in-room champagne or a basket of fruit, decorations for your room and cabin door, etc.
3. Cruises are really designed for people that like people so be prepared for...PEOPLE. If you are traveling on Carnival or Royal Caribbean, which are extremely popular cruise lines, you may have a little bit of a hard time finding intimate or quiet moments - but you will have tons of activities and excitement to explore!!
