Question My dad offered to help us, now I am not sure what that entails...

My dad offered to help us pay for our wedding. He completely covered the cost of my sister's wedding ( I am not trying to compare here). He gave us $$ toward our deposit. He let me know to let him know when the next payment was due. I called him and let him know our wedding date, being he is my father and he did give money to us. He asked me how much it was going to be. I gave him an estimate. He responds with, "That is more than your sister's was." Which, it isn't by a LONG shot. No joke. So, he tells me that me and DH2B better "start saving your pennies." My question is this: Is he rescinding (sp?) his offer to help by making that comment? By the way, I did let him know that DH2B and I are going to be paying a nice-sized portion of the bill, which is more than my sister did. They didn't pay anything toward their's. Thank you in advance for any advice!
