Does anyone know who typically hosts or should be honored with a jack and jill in their honor? I know that I have attended some and that they usually involve a member of family ro wedding party planning a "dance" at a hall, with people being given the option to buy a ticket and attend or not. It seems like this is something people do when they have friends and family NOT invited to the wedding, and it is a way for them to celebrate with the birde and groom. Am I on target and who/ how/when...is it appropriate for a couple?

The term Jack and Jill is just a fun way of saying men and women. Lots of people use this phrase to replace bachelor/bachelorette party....because that is essentially what it can do. would a jack and jill party be good for a couple that is getting married out of state and have people from the state that they are living in come since they will not be at the ceremony? My soon to be and I live in florida but all of our family lives in Michigan so we are getting married there but have friends that live in florida. This would be ideal for them right? Could this be the shower that the In-Laws throw?
