One piece of advice is be prepared for bad weather, rushing around 3 hours before the wedding to find tents is not fun!!!!Been there, done that!!

I'm having an outdoor wedding and at first I was worried about weather but I'm having it at the Botanical Gardens and they provide a space in case of rain. But if your place doesnt provide that, then I suggest putting up some tents anyways (unless you are possitively sure its NOT going to rain - check your local weather). Tents can be pretty with some hanging lights and ribbons.

Hope that helps

Use the natural environment, don't try to embellish too much because seasons hold so much natural beauty. One idea I am using for my outdoor fall wedding is at the end of the aisle's have holders with citronella candels to help ward off the bugs! You can get some really nice looking ones now so they don't look tacky. Plus you can move them to your reception area if there is an outside portion to help keep the bugs away there too!

where I live, July temps are in the upper 90's (at least) even after the sun goes down. So one really cute idea I've seen was to have the personalized waterbottles (some places will print labels in your colors with your names etc) for each of the guests. But have them displayed in old wine barrels, or the old galvanized washtubs; all filled with ice to keep them cool. These were right next to the guest book so that the guests could have them throughout the wedding.

Love the personalized water bottle idea! One thing I learned when I did this for a work event is that the ice melts quickly--- and when ink and water meet, there goes your pretty labels! You may want to use ice packs instead, that way you won't run into this problem.

I had a friend get married outside last year, and since it wasn't in a church, she could do all sorts of fun things. She had chilled champagne served to all the guests as they arrived, making it feel like the celebration was starting right away. That was cool. You could also serve lemonade or something non-alcoholic.

One other thing, have music playing the entire time. Since you're outdoors, it'll pull the environment together and create a nice ambience for the area. Guests will feel relaxed and like they're at a formal event.

Have fun and wear lots of deodorant!

i live in virginia beach and wanted to have mine on the beach in september, im scared it might be to chilly because i want a sunset wedding, right when it turns dark. and i was talking with a girl at work who had hers on the beach, she said it was so worth taking the risk and she had a backup plan in the hotel next to the beach, but the week before she was tuning into the wedding channel. but as far as decorating, if your doing a beach, tropical flowers and tall candle pillars look awesome, and for budget, get fake small palm tree like plants that you can just stick in the sand for like 5 dollars down the aisle(pathway) you will be walking!

Hello! I am also having an out door wedding in July, also the reception is outdoors at another location. We will be using tents (in case it rains) and for decorations we are using white christmas lights in the trees, potted flowers along path ways, and other "natural" decorations. The tents will have open sides in nice weather or closed sides in the case of rain.
I hope you have a very happy wedding!

First things first, is look for a good aesthetis spot, which doesn't need much decors because on its own, its beautiful, like a garden or something.

And if it's a garden, put some bright colors around...

Why not make a butterfly themed wedding??

Best wishes...
