We are having an outdoor ceremony. We would like to communicate to the guests that there will be no photography during the wedding ceremony other than the official photographer and that all cell phones should be shut off. Do we need to ask people not to smoke? I am sure noone would even consider these activities inside a church but outdoors might be different. What's the best way? Have the officiant announce it or put it in the programs? A sign?

I would put it in the programs and on a sign... also if it is at a venue where someone will be helping coordinate, that person maybe able to put up no smoking signs.

I would put a small sign on the guest book table and a small note in the programs about the cell phones and the camera. I would not mention anything about the smoking...I just can't imagine anyone smoking during a wedding! I can't imagine that it's necessary to even say anything...but if you are worried, include it with the cell phone and camera mentions.
