Simple/elegant ceremony decor

We're getting married in an old mansion in May '08. It has great architecture so it doesn't need much decoration, but I still want to add something to make it more personal. There is a lovely staircase leading down to the landing where the ceremony will take place, if that helps. Any ideas on something simple to use? Visual aides are welcome

You might be able to put flower garland twisted around the handrails of the steps. That would add a little color but be pretty too.

I think that wreaths on the doors to the outside would be pretty

I think flowers are definately the way to go and flower garland is a nice idea. I wish we could add a few candles there but unfortunately since the old mansion is also a museum, they only allow the unity candle.
