I think the only other dance is the money dance, where guys give you money to dance with you and women give your new husband money to dance with him. Usually they are slower but fun songs to dance to. I am going through the same thing though, trying to choose all the songs and for what. If you are having a DJ then they usually have good suggestions for these specific dances also.

Here's my list of songs. I haven't finalized anything yet, but this what I have so far.
1. Prelude - come away with me / Nora Jones (not sure if this will be just for me or for the entire wedding party) 2. Ceremony closing - beautiful day / U2 3. Bridal party entrance for reception - come on feel the noise / Twisted Sister 4. Bride and groom entrance for reception - we will rock you / Queen 5. First dance - covered in rain / John Mayer OR nothing left to lose / Matt Kearney 6. Father/ daughter dance - Daughters / John Mayer 7. Mother/ son dance - Ther perfect fan / Backstreet Boys 8. Cake cutting - sugar sugar (don't know the artist lol, but it's that oldies song) 9. Bouquet toss - girls just wanna have fun / Cyndi Lauper OR I'm just a girl / No Doubt 10. Garter removal - mission impossible theme 11. Garter toss - bad boys / Inner Circle 12. Last dance - save the last dance for me / (original version) I don't know if I'm doing the money dances yet, so I haven't picked songs for that. Hope I've helped. |

Hello!
I am new on here as well and I too am getting married on July 12th 2008. The music issue is a big one for me too. I am not sure what to use and when to use it. Wish you the best of luck!!!! |

We are not doing the traditional events: no Dollar dance, no bouquet toss, no garter, we are replacing with the "anniversary dance" ... As it eliminates younger couples, the last couple standing (married the longest) will receive my bouquet. I eliminates some of the humiliation I only have a couple of friends that are single (guys & girls) and I don't want to embarass them. Besides, I think the anniversary dance is sweet. I love to see grandparents still in love!!
