How many people know Chioggia? A few, I am sure! Most people know Venice... but why not an alternative Venetian Island? I went to Venice ltwo years ago, in July. Once we got home my fiancé asked me to marry him! Venice became our dream and David started getting information about. Jumping from one site to the other, on a lucky day, John got in touch with Mrs Segato, a very good wedding planner in Chioggia... who is now our best friend in Italy! She opened us our eyes! She suggested for our wedding ceremony Chioggia, a quiet and wonderful Venetian Island. At first... many doubts... we did not know Chioggia. Only now I know she was right! The small Island is far from tourism and full immersed into a deep history and Italian culture. I love it! I cannot describe you the great attention we got from all the citizens. The Major himsef (not a simple officail registrar) celebrated our union (with many presents for us!!!). He were even reported on a local newspaper! Everything was so special! In Venice we could never had such a service... and we would have spent the 50% more (at least). It is important to remember that there are still places and wedding planners that give more importace to the service and to the spouses rather than to the money they have already got! We got married last summer... it was the most beautiful day in our lives. A real "tailor-made" service. Thanks Chioggia! I invite you all to discover alternative destinations... above all if you love Italy. The day after we moved to Venice and we spent our Honeymoon. Oh... I forgot... another important thing: it is not always easy to get all the necessary documentation to get married abroad... but as in Chioggia weddings are not so many as in Venice... our Wedding Planner was able to get them from us in Chioggia, at the Court... and we did not have to fly to the nearest Italian Embassy here in Us to get the Nulla Osta. Enjoy discovering Chioggia... bye bye from LosAngeles
