We are life-long New Yorkers and both having been married before, found locations in New York that were perfect for our second wedding.

When we looked closer we thought (secretly and then openly), "Why didn't I think of this for my first wedding!"

We are smitten with the Adirondack mountain locations we've found and have narrowed our favorite location to the Lake Placid Lodge. Not only for the history and beauty of the environment, but, to know that we've been living so close to a luxury resort in our home state kind of floored us. We now feel it is important to use this beautiful resource, but also felt compelled to tell others (and others and others and others - this is where the rich and famous come to play).

So, here's to a majestic mountain wedding, but also to those who may follow and find this gem too -- enjoy!

Mountain weddings are great. Being a city girl, I hadn't really known the value of the mountains until I moved to the Smokies. I love waking up to an amazing view of the mountains, sitting in a hot tub at night and marvelling at the stars, etc. Of course, I have to be near some business because I can only handle the peace and quiet for so long I've always been amazed at the weddings that are right at the edge of a cliff. That would be beautiful.
