Hello, I had a question. What is a good time to start looking/buying a wedding dress before the wedding? A year? 6 months? what? I have no idea. My stepmother is being a b-i-t-c-h about the whole thing and says that most brides buy them like 2 months before the wedding..I know thats not so. So I was just wondering what you guys had to think?

Hello! I'm new here and was just going to say "hi" but I know a bit about this as I used to work at a major bridal chain. While they could get most of their dresses in about 6-8 weeks - there were some dresses that required a 12-15 week order. And to be on the safe side I would suggest an additional 6 weeks for alterations. There were brides that came in 2 months (or less) before their wedding, but they did not have enough time to order a dress, so their choices were limited to what was in stock.
Hope that helps! |
