Question How much is everyone spending on their dress?

So, I've found my dream dress. My original dress was identical to this one, but strapless. It was around $590. However, I'm big busted and just had my son a year ago, so I still have some stretch marks which showed on the strapless, so I switched to an identical dress, on with more of a halter top on it. However, the added halter raised the price to $780. I keep trying to find less expensive dresses, but there's absolutely nothing that appeals to me. I was hoping to keep it under $600, but I really love the halter dress. So, how much did/are you ladies spending on your dresses? Is $780 expensive, or have you ladies found them cheaper? Are there any sites (other than David's Bridal and Mori Lee) that you would recommend I check for reasonably priced dresses?

Thanks so much for your help!

I got my dress at david's bridal David's Bridal - Bridal Gowns 9T9218 Satin A-line halter with split front, beaded lace, removable modesty panel, and lace-up back. It was marked at $650, but I went there when they had a sale (they have tons) and I got the dress, and the bra and slip for less than $650.

780 is not a bad price. if thats the dress you want go for it. its not that much over what you was wanting to pay. its worth the extra money to love it and be happy with what you got. i paid around 600 i think. but i didnt care about the price, its what i was exactly wanting

That's what I'm thinking. I can certainly save enough out of each paycheck to make up for the $200 extra that I'll be spending. I really love the dress, and I haven't found anything that I like half as well. I'll certainly keep looking, but so far, that's the dress.

I actually got my dress LAST year, I got it at David's Bridal and my Aunt actually paid for it as well as all the "accessories" to go with it. It ended up being around $800. That was for the dress, petty coat, corset, tiara, etc. I went another day to get the veil though cause I couldn't decide which one, but the veil ended up being $140 I believe. My dress was the 2nd one I tried on and was the one the lady picked out for me to try on. I felt absolutely beautiful in it and I looked awesome.

That's a good deal! $800 is really good for all of the accessories and everything.

Thumbs up Re: How much is everyone spending on their dress?

The dress in the link is very pretty. If you keep comparing all other dresses to it, chances are you'll end up with that one It's your wedding day, only happens once (hopefully!) so you should go with what makes you happy.
I got my dress at David's Bridal too. My consultant had me try it on and I knew before I even looked in the mirror that it was the one for me...and of course it was about double what I was hoping to spend Oh well, a few budget cuts in other places made it okay (I got the perfect veil on eBay for $30 and a similar one at DB was $149)
Cutting corners is okay everywhere except the dress, haha.
Congratulations on your wedding and good luck.

My budget was $600 but the dress I really want is around $800, so when I go to try the dress on and if I love it, I will extend the budget

I haven't purchased a wedding gown, as of yet, but I have one picked out! It is a little under $600. I feel like I"m spending WAYYY too much though. We'll see if I end up chickening out and buying a cheaper one. :P
