Hi everyone,
My name is Erika and I am new to this community. I am getting married on Sunday, September 7, 2008 and was hoping for your help. My future mother-in-law has been battling Cancer for 4 years. Within the last year, she lost all of her hair. She doesn't feel comfortable with the idea of wearing a wig so she wears a cotton sunhat outdoors. With our wedding approaching, I'd like to buy her a beautiful hat or head dress but am unsure of what to buy or where. I've searched the web but have only come up with funky scarves or really elaborate hats that aren't elegant. She is 75 years old and Chinese and will be wearing a satin red pantsuit. Red and gold are particularly lucky colors so perhaps a nice gold toned hat? Any ideas on where I could find something like this? I want her to feel beautiful but haven't found anything thus far. Many thanks, Erika |

Thanks for the suggestion, periwinklebride. She doesn't speak English and I don't speak Chinese so there is a bit of a language barrier there
Aside from that, she gets very tired very quickly so going shopping and walking around is difficult for her. (Although I wish I could go with her -- would be a very nice bonding experience, as you suggested) ![]() Thanks again - How are your wedding plans going? ![]() Erika |

This is the website of the Red Hat Lady Society. They were red hats and go out as a group. Its a social group for older ladies. If you go to hte website you can find a chapter close to you and then ask them where they buy there hats. Some of them were off the wall hats but most were nice Sunday hats. I hope this helps |
