Default Weekday instead of weekend

So I keep reading that having a wedding on a weekday is cheaper than doing the weekend. I see the logistics but was wondering if anyone had actually experienced or had chosen to do this and if so, what were the pros and cons? I'm not opposed to it, especially since one of the dates I like is a weekday.

Well there is a huge PRO: cheaper

but the con is not as many people will come and you may have less of a party atmosphere. If the wedding is on a Thursday you may be ok but a Monday-Wednesday wedding there will be a ton (maybe all of your guests) going to work the next day. Plus if you have a wedding party they may have to miss a couple days of work. If you just are looking for a dinner with not much party you should be fine though.

Hi,

I'm a wedding planner out of NJ that has done many wedding during the week and there are some things to consider. It does depend on the age group of your guests. If many of your guests are young and don't mind partying into the night and still waking up for work in the morning it can be great. Or if you can give your guests a large enough window where they maybe able to take the next day off of work or at least arrange to go in late. Another option is you can actually look into having a wedding during the week or on a weekend on a holiday. My sister got married a few years ago on a Friday on July 4th, it worked out great because everyone had the day off. I also had a couple get married last mother's day (sunday) and received a huge discount. If you have any other questions please let me know.

Great Tip on picking a holiday to have it Thanks!

As for you Honeygirl, I think that it depends on the age group of the guests and if you are wanting a relaxed dinner or a party with drinking/dancing. I personally would stick with a weekend .
