Hello! Congratulations to all the brides-to-be, new brides and all the others on this board!

My name is Sylvia and I will be getting married in October of 2007. This is a first for both of us and I'm so excited about the planning and everything that needs to be done. I would love any suggestions anyone has about wedding favors and decorations for that time of year.

I'm looking forward to reading the different posts and maybe even providing my own suggestion or two!

Hi Sylvia. I am getting married October 7, 2007. I found it completely overwhelming at first and had NO idea how much work this was going to be. Our colors we settled on are espresso brown and cream with gold accents. I am doing my own stationary...I made the invites, the bulletins, poetry cards for the tables AND the thank you cards...ton of work but they look beautiful and all are matching. For Favors we are placing the poetry cards I made at every second seat, a cd with our wedding music on alternate seats and espresso favor bags containing three gold and brown foil wrapped candies at every seat. I have bought virtually everything on EBAY and have saved a ton of money. Even my wedding dress, a Maggie Sottero, and the bridesmaids dresses, by After Six, were purchased on line and I ended up saving $700 from quotes from local stores. They have arrived and are the exact gowns and are beautiful. We are going to use mainly white roses and lilies for our flowers. I hope to make pew markers found at this link...How to make Cone Pew Markers. I have spent a LOT of time on line but it has given me a ton of ideas and has saved me a fortune. Good luck. Maybe we can keep in touch and help each other out as our weddings get closer. It is a lot of fun getting everything going...but a lot of work!
