Default Hi! Getting married on August, and LOST! :-)

Hi all! I'm new here, and getting married in August on an almost non-existent budget. My mom's making all the dresses, aunts are catering, and a cousin is going to DJ. Our only real problem is that we haven't decided where to have the ceremony. Any suggestions?

Did you try any local town parks, or national forest type places, or even a familt members yard, maybe a bed and breakfast type place? we checked out a few prime locations, but they were expensive and not quiet what we wnated, so we are getting married in FH"s mom and dads yard it is pretty, she is also making my dresses, cake, and helping me plann. Good luck finding a place that isn't already booked

What about local parks? Any pretty spots near where you live? A friend of mine got married in the yard of a historic mansion that's in a state park by her house. It was very inexpensive (free, but they had to pay for a permit or something?) And was absolutely GORGEOUS! Then the reception can just be a bbq in your (or a family members) backyard! Definitely worth looking into..
best of luck

You could have it in the park (check requirements/costs), you could get married in someone's back yard and then have a BBQ afterwards. A few years ago, my uncle got married in my aunt's backyard, and because they were very low on a budget, we all brought a dish and made it a pot-luck reception. Just think of those kinds of things and you will find something that you love.

All of these r great ideals but if you attend church somewhere or know of a church that you'd like to have ur wedding at you could contact the minster of that church and sometimes they'll let you use there church and reception hall for a small fee and he'll even do the ceremony. Don't forget to get ur marriage lincense Check ur state to see what the requirments r or u could run into some problems there. Hope this helps, also local community buildings r general inexpensive you could also use something like that and just use lighting effects to change the room from ceremony to reception site.
