Question Simplicity Gourmet Bridal Giveaway

I recieved a call last week from a guy named Byron Gilmore from Simplicity Gourmet saying I have won a 8 day 7 night stay in a condo. And they gave me a list of places I can choose to go. Well, my fiance and I went to this 90 Minute cooking session to recieve this "free trip." We picked up the voucher for the trip and left. This session took place at the Best Western in Madison Hieghts, Michigan. It seems pretty legit. I am just doing further research. Has anybody else heard of this and has anybody else done it? This website rocks!

My fiance and I did the same thing. The cookware is WAY overpriced, but good stuff. Some of the plans are different. Usually the 8 day 7 nights is for somewhere in the US, the 3 day 2 nights is in Mexico or Europe. I've also looked at ripoffreport.com and they have similar stories. It is legit, but you have to buy plane tickets and pay all taxes and fees. You will also get to put in your top 3 choices and they choose for you.

In my research, I saw that one guy had put in his choices. They mailed him a notice that they were all booked for the time he requested and he has been unable to reach anyone to get this resolved.

The other issue is there is a company, Mini Vacations, was bought out by Integra. Mini Vacations was ripping people off, but Integra has been proved to be legit. Rip Off Report:MVI Marketing & Simplicity Gourmet I won a free honeymoon from Simplicity Gourmet from a company who no longer exists Tampa & Sarasota Florida

These people are complete SCAM ARTISTS. They promise a completly free trip which is a lie, you have to pay at least 100 a day in "taxes and fees" and the trip is only valid Mondays through Wednesdays, neither of these things are mentioned in their phone call. Also the scheduled their presentation in a hotel in a very bad area. There was a shooting outside during out presentation.

Thanks for all the information about this. I don't know how they recieved my phone number. I never give my number on bridal sites. Also, the number that they called is my cell phone number, which I believe is illegal.

I didn't recognize the number, so I let it go to voice mail. The message was strange. "Jessica" was laughing (like she was laughing with a co-worker) most of the time that she was leaving the message. So it was difficult for me to understand what the name of the company she was calling for. Interestingly enough, when she left the phone number to call back...she was as clear as day. I called the 1-866 number well after normal business hours and heard the name of the company. After plugging the name into a search engine, I saw that this is a scam on several other websites. Maybe not a scam, per se, but similar to the time share pitches that have been out there for years. It's misleading though...not "free" as they say. I would stay away from dealing with people like this. They are preying on women that are getting married. Weddings are expensive and they use "free" to reel in women that are looking to save some money. I don't think it's worth it and don't feel that these companies should get any kind of monetary support (buying their products).
