Hello Ladies
I am getting married in October and I wanted to get everones opinon of what kind of food or even if food has to be served. I am getting married on a Sunday a 2pm. I was originally thinking of just a few finger foods like fruit, cheese and some mini sandwiches. As it gets closer and I see how stretched my budget is getting(we are also having a house built at the same time ) I am starting to think that I won't have enough to do the spread I was thinking. If it's an afternoon wedding, do you think that is is totally nessecary to really have much in the way of food? Thanks! |

I think you should have something besides cake, I went to an afternoon wedding and all they had was cake and people ended up leaving early because there was nothing to eat. Just remember that your guests spent time and money to be there so make sure they have a good time to.

I also think that you need something more than cake. I dont know how many people you are having but for a couple of parties (shower, b-day, ect) that I have thrown I have had ham salad and chicken salad sandwiches on bread or rolls (if you do it on bread cut it into triangles it makes it look like you have more). This is rather cheap if you do it yourself or have someone you know do it for you. Then i just had a veggie tray, chips and pretzels.
Hope this might help. Happy Planning!! |
