Default Introduction

Hello Fellow Brides-to-be! My name is Sarah and I just joined this forum. I will be getting married August 2, 2008 and am quite excited. I already have my dress and my shoes. I also have my ceremony/reception site booked.

I figured I would "piggy-back" off this thread instead of starting a new one. I am also new to this forum, my name is Trina. My fiance, Erik, and I are planning to have our ceremony Midsummer's eve 2008, but the date is not set in stone yet. We have decided that we want to have the ceremony at the Heavener Rune Stone State Park in Heavener, Oklahoma. (We live in Tulsa, about a 3 hour drive from Heavener.)

Because it will be the end of June and the sun melt us outside we will have the ceremony in the late evening, probably around 7:30-8ish. With that in mind I think that our theme will be something like starry night or something like that. So, I guess that about covers everything I have going right now.

Sarah,
I can't believe you already have you dress and shoes!!!! I have been looking at dresses off and on for the last year and still haven't found one I am completely satisfied with, how did you do it?!!

How are you coming along on bridesmaid's dresses? That seems to me like its going to be even harder to do than my dress because of the different colors. I wish that all the companies would get together and come up with a set of standard names for all the different colors instead of having like 5 different names for the same color. lol

Anyway, I am so glad that I found this sight and look forward to spending the next year or so chit-chatting with everyone.

Hi Trina! My brother's name is Erik spelled with a k. I don't hear of many Eriks spelled that way.

I haven't done much with Bridemaids dresses, because I don't want to burden them with that, and they may change in size before the wedding. I'm working hard to stay the same weight I'm at. (I recently lost a lot of weight). However, I think I'm just going to have them buy a simple black cocktail length dress of their choosing and buy them all a sash in whichever shade of blue that I decide upon for the blue in my wedding colors. I'm also going to throw a jewelry party at the local beading shop to make blue jewelry for them all to wear. I want them all to be comfortable and to be able to wear the dresses again and again.
