Hey everyone!! I just signed up! I've been engaged since end of January-- we are having a destination wedding in Mexico in May.... Very excited- been interesting planning a destination wedding- anyone out there that is doing the same??!?! My fiancee and I have been together 10 years this fall- never planned on getting married- but we decided to go ahead and make it official -esp since we've made the 10 year mark!--- Can't wait to talk about wedding stuff!!!!

Hi! I'm new too, I was just about to post my introduction when I read yours - and we have something in common - I'm not as lucky to be planning a wedding in Mexico - but I've been with my boyfriend/fiance 10 years too! We're not officially engaged yet, but I can finally see it coming (probably within the next month). For me it has DEFINATELY been worth the wait!!!

Where in Mexico are you getting married? My fiance and I are honeymooning there!

We are getting married in the Riviera Maya-- the resort is El Dorado Royale--- we are actually doing 5 nights there- it's the wedding resort- and then doing the "honeymoon" part at Adventura Spa Palace- for 5 nights- from what our travel agent said -it's right down the road.. We are using DestinationWeddings.com - Destination Weddings and Honeymoons to coordinate everyone's travel - they have been great......The planning has been easy- once the place was picked - just send out save the dates/invitations/buy a dress/ and lose 25 lbs! hehe ..... (haven't lost the 25 lbs yet! - the wedding coordinator at the resort sent an online magazine with tons of pictures for cake, flowers, setup, cocktail hour menus, dinner menus, etc- so it's been really easy--- done it mostly at work- hehe....
However, this week I'm feeling guilty about the cost of people coming to see us get married- my wonderful future mother-in-law is putting me on a guilt trip-- I just wanted to elope and my sappy but cutie fiancee wanted to open it up to 30 of our family/closest friends...but it is really expensive for people to fly down there and stay at the resort- ugh... enough venting!
I can't relate too well to all the "regular wedding" planning- but it's still fun to chat about different wedding stuff!! Excited to be in a "brides suppport group" LOL -lord knows I need it!

So you know what's kinda funny but also kinda strange? We're staying at the Adventure Spa Palace too! And your wedding is the day before ours... so we'll probably be there at the same time. We were gonna go to Sandals in St. Lucia but after getting a Honeymoon Planner we changed our minds!! So maybe we'll see you around, haha...

oh my god- that is too funny!!! We'll have to meet for drinks at the pool!!! Sometimes I think I'm almost just as excited about the time with my fiancee in the Carribean more than the wedding -hehe

No, seriously! Whenever I get stressed about wedding planning, I just picture myself and my NEW HUSBAND laying by the pool having a drink! It usually makes me feel better. As much fun as the wedding is going to be (and I know our reception is gonna be a blast), it'll be nice to have "just us" time. Especially since we'll have 300 guests to talk to . Anyway, I'm definitely excited!
