I am thinking of having a destination wedding...any advise????

Hi- We are having a destination wedding in May.... I always wanted to get married on a beach, and after being to the Caribbean a few times-- just couldn't imagine getting married anyway else!! we are using www.destinationweddings.com---- a cool travel agency/website that sets up all your guests travel, helps you pick a location/resort, keeps everything organized for you, works with you and the wedding coordinator onsite at the resort, etc..... We are having around 30-40 guests--- and they are staying 3-4 nights at the resort... The only downside is I've felt a little guilty about close friends/family paying to come to Mexico to see us get married -but everyone seems really excited.... I definitely don't think it's for everyone- but the destination wedding is perfect for us.. Let me know if you have any specific questions---- good luck!

I had a destination wedding of sorts. I met my husband in Park City, UT and we had since moved, but thought it would be fun to have a destination wedding there. The biggest thing to consider is that you may have a lot of family/friends who can't travel that far (depending on how far away). What is nice is that it keeps the wedding small and you can really hang out with your guests. We absolutely loved our wedding! Almost all my close family/friends could come and they came for a few days so we saw them multiple times over the course of the weekend. The venue that we chose had a wedding coordinator, who basically acted as my wedding planner - she was great - could answer all sorts of questions I had about everything from flowers to photographers, etc....
