Default total meltdown

I don't know if this is the norm or what, but I am totally freaking out. We are going to be at least $2000 short for the wedding. My parents are chipping in a little, but can't help much more than they are, and the groom's parents can't help at all ( we are even having to pay for the groom's dad's tux and MOB's dress so they are not wearing raggedy clothes for the wedding). I am now thinking that I might need to get a second job or something. I would totally scale back everything, but we have already signed the contracts, so the savings of going with something else will be eaten up in the loss of deposits. Anyone know where to find a money tree?

Have you tried talking to your vendors? They may still be able to cut you a break as long as you stay with them and just go with a smaller package or something, I dont know, just a thought.

So I guess I was somewhat melodramatic, and we are currently crunching numbers, and I am finding tons of places to trim $10 here and there. We are now not only going to be ok, but we might be able to spend our wedding night at a nice hotel.

glad to hear that, its always nice to remove yourself from your "natural" environment. i actually read somewhere that even if you are getting married in the town that one or both of you lives, you should rent a hotel room because being in a different environment can help to create some romantic vibes ;-)
