Arrow Price negotiating

Just a little friendly advice to every bride out there on a budget. Don't just automatically settle on a price a vendor gives you. You gotta try and do some negotiating. Perfect example: I emailed a florist the other day and went into great detail of exactly what I'll need for my wedding and what flowers I would like. She email'd back and said her minimum for weddings is 1,500. Now mind you, all I particularly need is 3 bouquets, 6 boutonniers and 2 mothers' corsages ~ and my primary flower is the sunflower. So, it's not like I need a whole lot, nor am I picking an expensive bloom ~ I don't even need my florist to go the venue to set anything up. So, that 1,500 price tag was absolutley rediculous for me. I email'd her back and politely stated my case. She in turn, typed out a proposal for me (making sure to inform me that she normaly doesn't do this) and re-figured that price down to 550! Now that is what I call a deal! Of course not every florist/vendor will be willing to do this, but it's definatly worth a shot to try and get that price lower. I personaly think if a company is willing to do that, then they truly do care about their customers. I hope this little tip will help my fellow brides out there. Best of luck to all.

Wow, she must be something else to magiclly make almost $1000 disapear. It is obvious how much they marked up their prices and it's sad to think how many brides would have paid that price. Way to go Mandy!

I wonder if the person is a high-end florist who generally doesn't do weddings for less than 1500 dollars and their original email was a way of telling you 'no' rather than a actual 'price quote'.

Just a thought. I know the wedding photographer we used said 'no' via this method. (we ended up coming up to his minimum price after 6 months of looking for someone better and failing)

Either way, sounds like you're getting a nice product at a fair price. Well done.

I'm actually no longer going with this florist lol. My mother suggested that I check out a place right here in our city ~ the same florist my mother got her wedding flowers from back in 1979! I hesitated at first because I thought I was already getting a damn good deal and I loved the person we currently had picked out. But, I went and checked out their prices anyways. To my amazement, the florist right here in my city offered me a price of $230 ! And that price is for exactly what I was going to ordering with the first florist. I couldn't pass up that much of a price different. I do feel bad simply because our first florist was super nice and helpfull, but ultimately it does come down to who can offer me a better price.
