Red face New Girl

Hello All,

I'm new to this site... I got engaged on Christmas Eve and will be getting married on April 25, 2009. Any advice anyone has for me? I don't really know a whole lot of people who have gotten married and I didn't realize how much work was involved... I know I have quite a ways to go until the wedding but I am trying to plan early to save as much money as possible.. Again... Any advice you can provide would be much appreciated. Thanks and hope to hear from you all!

Caryssa

Welcome and congrats on your engagement

The number one piece of advice I can give you is to remember that it's you and your fiance's wedding. Everyone around you is going to want to give input on your day, but don't feel obligated to please everyone. That will just lead to regret and wishes after the fact that you had done it your way.

The only other thing I think is a for sure idea is find a good wedding website with a check list. This one is good for venting and getting opinions, but I like weddingwire's checklist.

Good luck and best wishes

Hi
First off, congratulations!
So you are getting married in April of next year? That will give you a lot of time for planning. One thing I learned so far is compromise. My fiance and I both have different ideas of what we want for our wedding but we keep trying to find our middle ground so its perfect for both of us. When one of you gets demanding nobody wins.
Another tip I would give you is try to keep it fun and RELAX!!! Too many people stress out more than they need to. Try not to become a bridezilla and just go with the flow.

Good luck!
