I'm having a mad hatter themed reception and need some ideas on colors, center pieces, and favors. also having a hard time finding invitations that fit the theme anyone know of a place to order mad hatter themed invitations or any ideas on what i could use for invites?

What time of the year are you having your wedding? I actually just saw a real funky looking cake yesterday and it was called 'mad hatter'. Grrr I can't remember where I saw it though. If I think of it, I'll be sure to let you know. The cakes tiers were like, all uneven and each cake had different colors and prints. For that theme, I would deffinately go with bright, bold colors like pink and orange, or dark purple and green. Oh wait, here's one site you can look at: Sweetworks

As far as mad hatter invites, I haven't seen those anywhere. You can always get invites that are based on your two primary colors. Centerpieces, hmm....maybe you could get giant tea cups (have seen them in walmart before-garden section) or even find a way to make your own. Then fill the cups with the same flowers as in your wedding. Favors could be mini tea cups. I've seen those (well actually, they're supposed to be coffee mugs but they could work as tea cups) on many sites like nowandforever.com and cherishedweddingfavors.com

Yeah, I think I saw the cups at the end of last summer or fall. I wanted to get one for myself because my kitchen is a cafe theme lol. They had two different prints from what I can remember ~ polka dots and stripes. And the colors were like, orange, pink, teal, black...which would go awesome in a mad hatter theme. Ya know what would be even better to fill them with? TEA!! I just keep thinking about Alice in Wonderland and that scene at the table. I just remember everone drinking big cups of tea lol. If you can't find those giant cups, try getting a bunch of differnt colored cups and saucers and then super glueing all of them on top of eachother, like in a crooked way. I think that would be awesome.

Hello everyone I am also a newbie ,I am getting married 9/19/09 and I am looking for a theme .My colors are black,white,and silver.It is going to be an after 5 wedding so I want my pictures and everyone to be comfortable and coordinated they can wear their cocktail gowns and not have to change since eveything will be held at the same place,But I am really struggling with a nice theme,Something Intimate or Enchanted ex: Magic Moments,Enchanted Isles something Fairytale I don't know I need help .....

gurl did u get the people magazine with ashley simpson on the cover when she got married. bc she had the same idea for her reception and they had alot of photos. i hope i helped.

If you still haven't found those oversized teacups, I have an odd suggestion that I think will work. I'm actually doing a mad hatter theme myself and I bought these and think they're adorable. Go to the pet section at walmart. They have food and water bowls (they are not marked food or water though) that are teacups with saucers built under them. They're striped and polkadotted and look gorgeous!

Oh, I forgot to mention that if you google "personalized teabags" you will find links to a lot of wonderful sites that will print your names and the big day on teabags, which make great favors!

I work at Wal-Mart and I know we have the tea-cup planters in our Lawn and Garden area. They come in designs or solid colors.
