Ok so, I think we're going to have an engagement party. Not quite yet as we're getting married 10/10, so I'll probably have the party somewhere between summer of 09' and fall of 09'. I was trying to talk to my mother about it, but I'm kinda affaid that she has an 'old skool' mind lol (she was married in 1979). She said for her wedding, she had a stag and shower, and guests had to buy a ticket to attend. Is this a proper thing to do? I mean yeah, it would be nice to make some money to help fund the wedding. Truthfully, I would be really hoping to make some money as my FH and I are on a very tight budget and every little bit would help. But I just don't know if asking guests to pay to attend the the party is right. To me, having an engagement party is pretty much to celebrate with everyone and HOPE to possibly recieve cards with a few bucks lol. I just don't know. I need everyone's oppinion on this one. And also, who do you invite to an engagement party? Everyone that you're going to invite to the wedding? Or just the closest family and friends?
