Re: How to wear the hair??!!??!!
What kind of veil to wear depends on what your dress looks like. I know that some veils come attached to a tiara type thing, but i think that if you choose to wear your hair down in curls or something, a veil would be perfect. For updo's, i think that just a tiara would look best. What I would do when I go in for a fitting, try your dress on and keep your hair down and try on a tiara and a veil, then put your hair up, and try on the tiara and veil, and decide which you think will look best, that way you have a general idea of what looks best with your dress. I did this, and it really helped me decide how I would wear my hair, and whether to choose a tiara or veil. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Re: How to wear the hair??!!??!!
I'm doing my sides back and just a few ringlets aound my face and the back in big curls, and a veil attatched to a jewel clip. I saw a girl for the prom just a month ago with her hair like that just without the veil, but had the jewel clip and it looked so simple but elengrant all at once. It was just perfect. That's how I made my choice. I looked at girls for the prom and got ideas from that till I saw the girl with the big curls and made my choice. I haven't been to many weddings and when I search updos I was getting alot with the veil and couldn't get a good idea of the hair looked like. Good luck.

Re: How to wear the hair??!!??!!
There is a lot of good advice on this thread! I am actually just going to do a half up-do (my hair is long and thick... very heavy for a full up do) and going to wear a headband, as opposed to the tiara. In my case, less is more. I am going to have a veil with crystals hanging here and there. I felt a tiara would be "too much" in this case. My dress has no sequins or designs on it...it has pick ups and a corseted back. It does depend on your dress in regard to how you should do your hair. Good luck!

I think it really depends on the dress you are wearing. Mine for instance has a lace jacket kind of thing with some sequin and beading detail. A veil would be too much and would be competing with the lace of the dress. I am going to wear my hair down in long loose spiral curls and then add some hair jewelry for just a little sparkle.

Re: How to wear the hair??!!??!!
All the girls have pretty much said it before me, but it really does depend on the style of your dress.
If you have a plain dress with little to no decoration, appliques, embroidery or beading, then I would get a veil with lots of decoration and a tiara to match.
If the situation is reversed, do just the opposite.
As far as your hair is concerned, think about the type of hair you have, the time of year you will be getting married and how you normally wear your hair.
If you have thin, fine hair and your wedding is in the summertime, get an updo. This will keep ou cool and your hair should look nice, as well. If you have thick, unruly hair and you wedding is in the winter, maybe wear it half up & half down.
It all really depends.
My dress is very detailed and has lots of beading and lace. A veil and tiara is uneccessary, in my opinion. I have thick, curly hair and my wedding is in the fall. Because of all these conditions, I will be wearing my hair down and curly with only flowers in my hair for decoration.

Re: How to wear the hair??!!??!!
it's not for everyone, i'm sure, but i'm going with something a bit different. my situation: i don't like veils, i don't like conventional up-do's, my hair looks terrible curled and won't stay curled anyway, i considered a tiara but couldn't find one i even kinda liked...so i started considering the possibility of some kind of braid, and, in searching, i came across this:
Braid Examples - Crown Braids
this seems like the perfect solution for me. you could still attach a veil (like in the second picture), you can leave some hair down in back if you like, it's an "up-do" without being what you typically think of as a up-do...your own hair is, in essence, a headpiece. you can work some ribbons or flowers or decorative pins into the mix to spiff it up. according to the person who runs this site, you can do this braid with long hair, short hair, or anywhere in between (great for many diverse bridesmaids), it's sturdy, stays put well (great on kids), and surprisingly, it doesn't take too long to do. i'm sold!
