Default How to play EVO files/convert VOB to iMovie on Mac

How to play EVO files/convert VOB to iMovie on Mac

Often, when you have a mountain of EVO files from your camera, you may want to play them on your computer, media players or portable devices like iPod, iPhone, Zune, Zen, PSP, PS3, Xbox 360, cell phone, Archos, BlackBerry, etc. The tutorial will show you an easy way to play EVO files on your computer via Moyea Video Converter for Mac.

To start, let’s view EVO. An EVO file (Enhanced VOB) is a container format contained in HD DVD video media. It contains the actual video, audio, subtitle and menu contents in stream form. It is an extension to VOB, which is an extension to MPEG program stream. There are a few consumer software solutions that can play EVO files – PowerDVD, WinDVD for Windows and FFmpeg for Linux (unprotected EVO only).

Luckily, with this powerful EVO Converter for Mac, it is available to play EVO files on Mac with ease.

Step 1: Free download this Mac EVO Converter here, install and run it.

Step 2: Click the "Add" button to load EVO files into it and select output format

From the drop-down list “Format”, you can easily choose the proper output format you need, like MOV, MP4, MPEG, AVI, WMV, VOB, FLV, 3GP, MKV, MP3, FLAC, AC3, AAC, etc.

If you want to adjust audio/video parameters for better video/audio quality, you can click the “Settings” button to open a profile window. Under it, you can set resolution, aspect ratio, bit rate, codec, size, frame rate, sample rate, channels at your will.

Step 3: Click the “Convert” button to start EVO conversion

After all the necessary settings are done, you will get the converted files from its default folder and then you can play them on your Mac or other portable devices for enjoyment.

Tips:

1) This Video Converter for Mac is also a good editor, which can help you trim, crop, add watermarks/effects, replace audio, adjust volume and remove interlaces with simple ticks.

2) This Mac Video Converter is the only one tool in the market that supports DTS-HD audio conversion. In other words, you can keep the EVO file’s original audio/video track for perfect video/audio effects. What you need to do is to click the “Properties” button to choose the right one from the “Stream ID”.

If you want to view stand alone VOB files, you have to have DVD player software, like MPlayer OSX, VLC Media Player, etc that supports playing VOB files. If you want to import VOB files to iMovie, QuickTime, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, iDVD, etc, you have to convert VOB to those workable formats to iMovie, Final Cut Pro, etc, like DV, MOV, etc.
