My long hair doesn't hold a curl for very long either. When I went for my practice hair, the gal used hot rollers, a curling iron and a whole heck of a lot of hairspray! Those curls pretty much stayed until I showered the next day

Im a hairstylist and what I tell EVERYONE before they get their hair done ( especially if their hair doesnt hold curls or styles well ) is DO NOT wash your hair that day !!! As gross as this may sound the dirtier your hair is the better especially if you have thick , heavy , or tons of hair . The reason why is because when your hair is clean its too soft to really " take to " the style . When your hair has not been washed for a day or 2 it has more of its natural oils that acts as a natural styling pomade . I have even " dirtied " womens hair up w products if their hair felt too soft or dry . Now if you hair type is naturally over oily , you MIGHT be able to get away w freshly cleaned hair but its still a big if !! My best suggestion is if you can stand it , wash your hair the day before the wedding , if your hair is realllyyyy stubborn and you can hack it maybe go 2 days before the wedding w/out washing it . I hoep some of this has helped you .

I have really fine hair and it doens't hold style either. Any time I have had it done up professionally, I have gone a day without washing it, and it works great. I know it sounds gross, but one day isn't that bad, unless you are like running a marathon the day before.
