You should also look into Puerto Rico my good friend is going there for her honeymoon for an all inclusive thing, she said it was pretty inexpensive.

Thumbs up Re: honeymoon on a budget

Cruises are really reasonable expecially out of Florida ports. Also, the all inclusive resorts in Aruba are out of this world.

Riviera Maya is a great location, but there are several others that are budget friendly as well. I'm not sure what airport you are flying out of, but there will be no problem finding you a nice all-inclusive resort including airfare for your budget. Other places to keep in mind are Puerto/Nuevo Vallarta and the Dominican Republic. I don't charge fees for research - or anything else - (even if you don't book with us) so feel free to e-mail me some more information and I can at least get you started with some ideas!!! aprilandmatt@allabouthoneymoons.com

Have you thought about leaving on the Monday after your wedding? This could save you in airfare and the anguish of flying with a hangover or just having to get up early after such an amazingly draining day of excitement! I didn't move until 8:00pm the day after my wedding - I don't know what I would have done if I had a flight to catch that early in the morning!!!

Hi. I am also getting married in the Fall....October 6. My two big concerns are also Hurricane season and money. Friends of mine are returning to a resort they loved in Panama. It is called The Royal Decameron. They loved it and are returning for their honeymoon. You can go for 7 days, 4*, all inclusive from Toronto for 999 pp. OR you can go for 14 days for $1299. (Crazy eh) Anyhow, they said the food is devine, the drinks are wonderful and it is hot and sunny. We haven't decided 100% yet on location, but we are going into the various internet sites to browse various resorts. If we go to Panama, we are also considering the Intercontinental Playa Bonita Resort & Spa, which is a 4.5* and the rates are a bit more. For weather concerns, I always go into Debs Dominican Reviews and go to the reviews for the resorts I am interested in and look to see if anyone posted reviews from October 2006 to see if anything was mentioned about weather. My travel agent also advised closer to the Fall there will be more accurate predictions of potential storms. Good luck!

Hi pghbride,
I am also getting married on Sept. 1 and was afraid of hurricane season. We are going on a cruise and our plane leaves on Sunday morning at 6:00. What we are doing is getting a town car to take us to the hotel that night and the hotel will shuttle us to the airport in the morning (this is usually a free ride if you stay at the hotel the night before). This will eliminate us having to drive anywhere when we are exhausted from the day. I like staying at the hotel the night before because it eliminated the early morning rush to get there Also we requested a non-stop flight that way once we are on the plane there is no more to do until we get there.

I hope this gives you some ideas!

My soon to be hubby and I are also on a budget. We have decided to go to the Maya Riviera. We are going to book the Azul Beach Hotel. It is only going to cost about $2500 for everything, all inclusive with flight. And we are flying out of a really tiny airport in Arkansas, so I am sure you can get even better deals on flights. But wherever you decided to go make sure you check out reviews of the hotel by other travelers. There have been several places that we have wanted to go but am so glad that I read reviews of previous travelers first. The one hotel that we almost booked I found out was a partly hotel that college students frequently used. That's great for a regular vacation but not a romantic honeymoon. Anyway, hope this was some help.
