Whatever you do, DON'T put a registry card in your invitations!!! This is registry etiquette rule number 1. What you CAN do is put registry cards in your shower invitations, put a link to your registry on your wedding webpage, or simply have your bridal party spread the info by word of mouth; people will know to ask.

It's fairly typical for family and friends to ask your mothers what you need or where you're registerred. Give your Moms a card with the registry info, and that will help spread the word.

If you have a wedding website, direct your guests to visit it. There they will find your registry info. It might be a more "correct" way of letting them know than just adding it to your invites.

A wedding website is a wonderful idea, and we think it's okay to put the website address on your wedding invitations provided your wedding website is more than just a list of places where you are registered. In this instance, the content will determine whether or not it is appropriate.
For example, we suggest making your wedding site visually appealing, by matching your theme or wedding colors. By providing a free link to Google maps or Mapquest on your website, your guests will easily find directions to different places. If you have a Flickr or some other online photo-storage account, you can add relevant pictures throughout your planning stages, giving your loved ones an excellent way to stay in touch. If you make your website the focal point of your celebration, you could always tie it back into the rest of your wedding as well. For example, you could print your website address on personalized bookmarks as a gentle way of saying "Thank you," for participating in your celebration. We hope are suggestions were helpful, please keep us posted. |

The wedding website is a fantastic idea. We have one set up with all kinds of information available to our guests.
I simply typed out something in Microsoft Word, printed it out and put it in our invitations. Mine went something like this: We would like to encourage all of our guests to visit our wedding website. You'll have access to a lot of information including directions, events, registry information and lots more! We made our website for the use of our friends and family, so if you have the time, please visit! And don't forget to sign the guestbook! This is a great way to involve your guests and let them know about where your registered in an indirect way. Plus, I've had a lot of my guests simply ask me where we're registered. Some even have asked if we prefer cash to a gift! I paid around $30 for a 1-year subscription for my wedding wesbite from Personal Wedding Websites and Planning Tools | Free Trial Wedding Website. Besides the website, there is a lot of help when it comes to tracking your guests, online RSVPs and gifts. It's been a very useful investment for me. |

I have always seen cards inserted in the bridal shower invitation. Most stores have their own cards and will give them to you for free.

I love the wedding website idea! We had one when we got married last year through DesignOurDay (www.designourday.com). They were super helpful when I had questions and we loved their designs! We then put our website address on our save-the-dates and invitations. We had lots of out-of-town guests so it really helped coordinate hotels and activities for them.
