Why don't you guys do a honeymoon registry with a travel agency? That way there you don't have to worry about the asking for money "no no" and you have a registry

I like the idea of setting up an account with an agency, that way people can go through them. There is a good article in Modern Bride about registries gone wild and people asking for money, etc.... One person set up an account and had different things they wanted to do on their trip and how much each costed, that way people could pay for one of their activities, like a tour, admission to the park, etc... and then they sent their guests photos of them doing whatever activity is was that the particualr guest paid for with their thank yous. I thought it was a neat idea.

That reminded me of somthing i saw in a wedding magazine. One couple didnt want any cards left on the gift table to get lost, so they bought a really pretty old fashioned metal bird cage for everyone to slip their cards in. they just decorated it to match the rest of the wedding. it was really cute in the picture!

just an idea!

He has been married 2 times prior to me and I haven NEVER been married. We have lived together for 4 years and have everything we need.....Not to mention we live in a 950 sq ft house. Everyone who knows us knows that everything we do, is with our kids, so we didnt think it would be a huge surprise that we would be planning a family trip as our honeymoon. I have seen many ways to tell guests in the invites that you would prefer money..everyhting form coming out and saying it, to opening a bank account. I thought it might be neat to insert a fun poem...so I sat down and wrote one.. PLEASE tell me you girls's honest opinion on what ya think.. most people have like it...but is it tacky??????

We didn't register-
no gift lists to read-
no gravy boats no toasters-
we have all that we need.
we are two families soon to be one-
we are saving our cash for some family fun.
Our honeymoon will happen-
as a family of four-
as we visit california-
and much much more!
So money would be great, fantastic and grand-
to help us take the boys to Disney Land!!

Hi
May I ask when and where you inserted the poem? You mean with the invite?
Reason why I ask is that I have a fairly similar situation, and I LOVED your idea
