Default to send or not to send? to those who will not come

My fiancee' and I have sent out save the dates and have heard back from three couples in my family that they cannot make it to the wedding. As silly as this sounds, do I still send them an invite, can I enclose a personal note stating I know they will not be coming? or do I just not send one, so they don't have to respond. Only one of these couples has spoken directly to me, the other 2 asked their mom to tell me. My gut tells me send them each one and then see what happens. Things change and who knows maybe they will come?

Also, what are people's feelings on hand written invites VS. pre-printed script font labels? I read on one site that you should hand write them, BUT our penmanship is horrible!

When I sent out my invites, I knew some of the people wouldn't be able to come but I still sent them. They appreciated getting the actual invite.

We have the same problem, but I am still going to send them an invitation. I think that is nice to let them know that they are still invited if they had a change in plans for the day of the wedding! As for handwriting vs. printing labels, I think that handwriting is nice as long as your handwriting is pretty but for the rest of us I think labels are the way to go. Another option is to see if your bridesmaids or mothers would write them while you stuff them if they have nice handwriting.

Good Luck Planning!!

I would send an ivite with a little note telling them you understand they may not be able to attend but you would still love them to be there if anything changes, and let them know you will miss them on your day.
