Do I need to get my bridesmaids all the same jewelry to wear on the day of the wedding? My mother thinks that the bridesmaids she all match down to their shoes and the color of their nails!
I'd kind of like to let them choose their own jewelry to wear. One of the 'maids does have questionable taste, though. Any suggestions? Then, what kind of gift can I get the girls if I don't buy them jewelry?? Does anyone have ideas? |

I don't think your bridesmaids have to match. If you're concerned with their taste, give them a general idea of the style you're looking for to help guide them.
As far as gift ideas, I'm paying for my girls' hair appointments and also giving them a small tote with some goodies. Hope that helps ![]() |

You should let the brides maids think about their own jewerly and what they want to wear, they will feel part of your occassion and will feel that they contributed something toyour day. let them feel cormfortable and heppy being a part of your day by having them get what they prefer. i tried it myself and it worked.
Each of them has some thing they like, it would be nice to choose things they individually treasure and would remember you for. |

Your bridesmaids dont have to match. What I did for my maids was, same dress and shoes, but they can choose any jewelry they like as long as it's silver and the hair can be any way they want as well (as long as its not up). I want them to show off pretty as well. A hairstyle that goes well with her face. Jewelry that accents the dress.
If they match down to the T...then it becomes boring and very "robot" as I like to say. |

I'm asking my maids to not wear necklaces, just the earrings I'm giving to them as gifts. That way no matter how they wear their hair the earrings will appear different, but the necklines will look the same. I'm also buying them matching polish for their toe nails cuz they're wearing open-toed shoes. And I asked them to just have clear polish or nothing on their fingernails. No one disagreed at all, cuz they'll still get to do their hair and makeup however they want, and those are the things that really show off your personality. I hope their happy w/ it anyways, because I really don't want to deal with any drama on my wedding day!

With my bridesmaids, the MOH's dress is just slightly different then the others. I'm giving them the choice to wear their hair up or down, their jewlery, makeup and shoes are also up to them. I don't think they have to match. In my mind, that will take away from their personalities. Let them make some of their own decisions.

I think either way is fine. I bought my bridemaids handmade pearl earrings that were all a bit different and I customized them to match their outfits. That way they all had pearl drop earrings, but they were not PERFECTLY matching. Surprisingly, doing this was not that expensive! Only $30 per maid. Then I got them comfortable flip flops that matched their dresses to wear when things got crazy at the reception. I glued swarovski crystals on them myself, to give them a bit of a more formal touch. In my opinion, it's all about putting effort into gifts and making them feel special; knowing that you are truly thankful for their support.
