Hi ya'll
In this age of contacts and eye surgery, this is a strange question. But BOTH of us wear glasses every waking moment of the day...ever since we were kids. Neither of us can really stand contacts because of allergies. His glasses tint a little in bright light (aka camera flash bulbs) But our photographer was excellent at positioning us during our engagement shoots so there is hardly a glare at all, and even that was taken out. I'm completely blind without my glasses, but everyone has been saying "glasses are not very bridal" even though they themselves don't recognize me if I don't have my glasses on. I'm thinking of not doing a veil, but focusing more on the hair (one of his favorites) with like a tiara. So my glasses won't be caught in the veil anyway. They aren't the new thick frames, they actually match my facial tones really well. But are glasses really just NOT BRIDAL??? |

I would say you should wear them especially if the photographer can do the photos without a glare. You could always take them off for a couple of pictures if you wanted but you do want to be able to see everything going on on your wedding day, don't you?

You should wear them. You don't want to look at your wedding photos and not recognize yourself. With a big white dress, tiara and bouquet I'm pretty sure people will recognize you as the bride even with your "non-bridal" glasses.
My sweetie wears glasses for better focus and is able to see without them. He was willing to leave them off for the wedding, but him without glasses just looks weird to me. I want the sweet face that I fell in love with looking at me on our wedding day... glasses and all. He did do some unauthorized shaving of his gotee, but that's an entirely different issue. If your photographer can fix the glare, I think you should definately stay true to yourselves on your wedding day. Best Wishes! |

Be the proud glasses wearer you are!!! Its just one day to look like the best you, you can be, so if glasses are you wear them. My fiance wants to spend the money on being fitted and order contacts but I have insisted my fiance wear his because they are him, I have never really seen him without.

I agree, your glasses are part of you and you should be comfrotable as well as bridal, so have a great day. Hope it goes well. My fiance had just a mustache for our engagement pics and i like him with a gotee, and i had some blonde highlights put in my hair, he was joking that we are different people and and no one will be able to recognize us,
He makes me laugh, Have fun planning. |
