I am borrowing my moms pearls ( I think they look nice with a wedding dress). my something blue is the gem on my garter. New is my dress. The old item is something that I asked my grandmother to help me with. I thought that this is something that she could help with. I figure that if is something that I dont want to wear (ugly jewelry or something of that nature) i will pin it to the underside of my dress.

My something old is something of my grandmothers...I asked my aunt to pick it out...maybe her rosary (though I'm not catholic I thought it would me nice to wrap around my bouquet). My new is my dress. Borrowed is my friends purse from her wedding (though I won't carry it, it'll be nice to have). I don’t have my blue...my garter is a TN Vols garter and we are not doing the toss. One of my bridesmaid is taking care of the something blue...I hinted at a handkerchief that has Bride written in blue on it.
Don't forget your sixpence penny in your shoe!! |

I haven't planned this out (or much of anything for that matter since I am just starting), but I was just thinking that it might be a good idea for me to borrow one of my step-grandmothers bells. She use to collect them from the different states so I can find on that is small and doesn't have the loud, sharp clanking, but rather a soothing ring and let it hang slightly from my bouquet with ribbons.
It is a Norwegian tradition for the bride to wear a wedding crown that jingles as she walks, this is done to "ward off evil spirits". The bridesmaids also wear crowns, a bit smaller than the bride's of course, these crowns also jingle and are there to confuse the evil spirits so that they are not sure which one is the bride. So I figure if I don't end up wearing the crown then the bell on my flowers will work well enough to get rid of "evil spirits". And actually it would be killing several birds with one stone: 1) Ward off evil spirits 2) Something barrowed 3) Something old (though I don't like the idea of using one object for two of the 4 items) 4) All the time I am holding my flowers the bell will jingle, just think of all the angels that will get their wings!! lol |

I just pretty much wrote this to answer another post... I'm new here so sorry if I'm not supposed to repeat myself!
My something old and something blue: One of my FSIL's best friends is a jewelry designer. She designs one-of-a-kind jewelry and I had my bridal jewelry done by her. Even though it's brand new and designed just for me, she actually uses all kinds of really unique vintage beads, so that she builds a 'something old' right into your jewelry. Blue kind of really doesn't go with my dress, so she put just one, tiny little super rare blue diamond bead into the necklace, right next to the clasp - so it's a really unique, super rare and special something blue, but it's tiny so it doesn't interfere with the overall look of the necklace. She's really awesome to work with, she takes tons of time with her clients and she makes stuff that is just so amazing that I'm on a mission to help other brides and help my designer's business by telling everyone about her. You girls will totally love working with her if you want something super unique. Her email is designs.by.danusia@gmail.com |

My something old will be my engagement ring (passed down from grandmother) my something new will be dress and shoes, something borrowed has not been figured out yet, but my something blue will be one tiny flower. We are making all of the flowers for the wedding out of a polimer clay (DECO Clay) and are making a hydrangea-esque bouquet of soft green, pink, and cream. I am going to make one of the blooms a pale blue and tuck it in with the rest of the flowers.
