I want to wear the "princess gloves" (full length) for the wedding. I imagine I would take the gloves off at the reception so that they don't get dirty and such. (Though I don't think I would mind wearing them the whole time just because its my one day to be a Princess and I am going to soak it all up!!!! lol)
Anyway, so talking with a lady a David's Bridal a while back and she said that with the gloves a lot of ladies cut a slit on the back of the ring finger's finger so that during the ceremony they can slip that finger out, put the ring on and then slip the finger back in the glove. I am curious if it would be odd to just wear the ring right over the glove? Erik is saying that it doesn't sound like a good idea because of ring size and just because no one does it. I told him, we take my glove with me when we get the ring, order the ring big enough to fit over the glove (its not like its going to be that much bigger) and then after the wedding we have it sized back down to my finger size. As for no one ever wearing the ring over the glove: Cinderella did, didn't she! lol Cinderella wore the ring over her glove >> Cinderella was a princess>>> I am a princess therefore I should wear the ring over the glove? Yes? What do you guys think? Good or bad idea? I don't want to look stupid but I also don't want to cut up my gloves, or struggle with them during the ceremony. |

My step sister just took her glove off, she tried to keep it on for the reception but they got in the way. But they made the pictures look really glam, and I am so envyous I dont have the arms to pull it off
. Also after you get married you dont want to have to send your ring out again (at the place we got mine it takes a week, but I know there are places that can do it same day), plus it costs money to re size it. But on the other hand its your day do it the way you want and be happy... it only happens once. |

the cost of resizing the ring is actually not on thing I am worried about spending to much on. The jeweler we are going to get the rings from is actually really nice to my family because the amount of money other family members have spend there before. (Thank you wealthy family members.)

Just be careful when it comes to having to get it sized down ... depending on the setting that might be harder to do then you would think ! I only know this because my uncle owns his own jewelry shop , so when you go in to get fitted bring your cinderella gloves
and just ask if you can do that to be on the safe side . You wear the rings for the rest of your life , the gloves are for one day , so make sure your idea is compatible w the type of ring you chose . |
