Arrow Re: Wedding Jewelry?! (long...sorry!!!)

Hi Tiffany,

I'm new here (just joined the site), but I actually just got the most *awesome* jewelry for myself and my bridesmaids that I think might be exactly what you're looking for!!!

One of my FSIL's best friends is a jewelry designer. She used to be a psychologist, so she designs one-of-a-kind jewelry and then includes a note with each piece describing the significance of the stones that she used and how they represent the relationship the bride has with her bridesmaids.

Here, I'm going to copy for you what she said in the letter she wrote with each of my BMs necklaces:

As bridesmaids are the women the bride is closest to, bridesmaid necklaces are a celebration of the relationships we have with the women we cherish. The stones that were selected for your necklace were chosen for their traditional symbolism, which is a reflection of these relationships.
Cherry quartz is said to have a calming effect, to remove negativity, and to strengthen our ability to love ourselves. This is symbolic of what we, as sisters and friends, do for each other – we are there for each other through the bad times; we ease the sorrows; and we encourage one another to love ourselves just the way we are.

Iolite is said to be a stone of self expression, which helps us express our true self, regardless of the expectations of those around us.

With these gemstones as the key stones in your necklace, the symbolism of this necklace is:

“May you always be surrounded by people who love you just the way you are.”

“May they see your true worth, encourage you to express your true self, and value you for who you are.“

I hope you enjoy this necklace, both on the bride’s wedding day as well as for years to come.

It's honestly, so awesome I'm almost as excited about my BM gifts as about the wedding. They really are women I'm super close to, so it's totally amazing to work with a designer who can find a way to create a beautiful piece of jewelry for them, and also find a way to say better than I could how much they mean to me.

Oh, duh - I just almost posted this and realized that if you actually like it and you want to work with her, it really wouldn't hurt if I gave you some contact info for her now would it?

Her email is designs.by.danusia@gmail.com

Oh - she also designed my necklace and made a note with it too, to celebrate my wedding day. I'd tell you all abou tthat too but I'm pretty sure this is a long enough first post!!!!

Thumbs up Re: Wedding Jewelry?!

I am finally set for bridesmaid jewelry...I didn't end up sticking with the ones from Target, haha. The ones I am for sure going with are from JcPenney's actually, and they're a pearl and rhinestone pendant necklace with matching earrings. Got the set for about $10 each and they're a really nice quality. I think they are also something delicate enough that the girls will actually be able to wear them again someday.
Thanks for all your advice everyone

I've searched many sites and all I seem to find are ones out of China or something that charge more for shipping than the cost of the jewelry
Thanks in advance!
I had a hard time choosing through all the different wedding bands until I found Hawaiian Jewelry Shop, it's the MOST BEAUTIFUL ring I've ever seen. The beauty started with gorgeous pattern engraving running around the band and inside engraving is absolutely perfect. It's clear and legible and really makes my wedding ring so personal.

Hey,

Well, I don't know if you've had your wedding yet, but just in case you haven't, there's this amazing website that my co-worker told me about where you can sometimes get really big discounts. You get to bid on the jewelry. She seems like a jewelry buff and is sort of addicted to bidding on auctions for really beautiful expensive jewelry there. Lot of name brand stuff, engagement rings, diamond bracelets, ruby earrings, etc...I think she really buys most of her jewelry there, and she's saved a ton of money. I couldn't believe some of the prices, and how beautiful some of the pieces were, and sort of became a fan.

This is her favorite website. You could probably find some really stunning pieces for yourself and your friends there .

Fellow brides, I found a this GREAT sample sale website that offers up to 70% off of retail prices. I just bought these super-cute pearl necklaces for my bridesmaids. You need a code to access the site. Try using BRID0808. It worked for me!!!
