I live in NJ and the average price for the photographer has been $4700 so it definitely depends on the area. I would just speak with a few and go with your favorite since you can only have wedding photos done once

It definitely depends on the area. I got lucky because my photographer only has a couple years of experience but takes OUTSTANDING pictures (Check her out! Kellie Day ). Our package includes 2 photographers, unlimited pictures taken, 9 hours of coverage, a DVD with all pictures and copyrights, and an engagement session with unlimited pics taken for $1125 total. So to me, $2000 for a pro isn't so bad. We're hiring a videographer also so we're gonna end up spending about 2000 total for "picture stuff." Good luck!

My photographer charges $3500. But, he's actually charging me like $2800. I thought that his charging price was outrageous, but now i dont think it's too bad. He will be with me all day long. From gettin hair and make up done to getting dressed. and 3 albums from the all day shots, to the formal wedding pictures.

Photographers are very expensive. I spent around $2000 for mine when I got married and I thought that was a lot! It seems to be more expensive back east. $4700 is a down payment on a car! I came across this website that may help you. It has lots of vendors from all around advertising their services. Read a few posts and see if you can find someone cheaper. Best Wedding Pros.com

I understand your frustration with the typical phtographer's prices. My wife and I got married last summer, and after being exposed to the racket that the wedding industry can be, we decided to jump in and offer some solutions at honest prices.
Very reasonably priced photography services (and more) from a company run by ethics, not avarice. -->The memories should last forever, the debt shouldn't.<-- |
