Default FMIL is against wedding

I have been with my fiance for 7 years and we have 3 kids. We have finally gotten engaged and my future mother-in-law ignores me or changes the subject when I talk about my wedding. She has mentioned in the past that she didn't want her sons to get married, and she didn't get married with my FFIL until they were together for 25 years. Yet, if she hears me calling my man my boyfriend she tells me to call him my husband. I haven't mentioned anything to her about it, but it really bothers me when she does these things. What should I do?????

What does your fiance have to say about this behavior?

If you want to talk about your wedding, keep talking. I do not care what topic you are talking about is, the weather, the news, the president, no one should be interrupting you and changing the subject. Whenever someone does that to me, I go right back to what I was talking about, ignoring the fact that they changed the subject and direct my statements to the people appearing the listen the best. This demonstrates to the interrupter that you weren't finished talking, the conversation wasn't over, and their interjection was not appropriate. I've tried this with some family members that seem to interrupt a lot and it works.

As for being against the wedding, that's not something you can change. My MIL is a head-strong and confident woman. It's sometimes intimidating to tell her she is mistaken or that she's done something that bothers you. Especially when someone like this take it the wrong way! We have found that all confrontation needs to be done between her and her son (my husband). You will never be able to reach her like her son does. He needs to stand up and represent the decisions you have all made for your family and that they don't have to like it, but they need to support it. If you put your foot down, you're just going to look like the witch that is bossing her family around. He needs to do it.

Honestly I would try to ignore her. She is obviously fishing for attention with her behavior, and if you let her know it is affecting you in any way she will only continue trying to manipulate you.
