A great day!
Flash back to a few years ago. Charlie was walking me home to my dorm. Outside of the dorm he finally did what we both wanted and he kissed me sparking our relationship. After he kissed me he smiled and said, "Well, that wasn't so awkward!" I smiled and agreed and we kissed some more until he walked me to the door and kissed my hand three times telling me that he needed to go home now and make sure that this wasn't all a dream.
Flash to our 5th dating anniversary (September 4, 2006). Charlie and I spent the entire day at a fair that is held in Vermont called the Champlain Valley Fair. We spent the day going on rides and seeing hypnotist acts with our good friend (my maid of honor).
All day Charlie kept acting a little odd. I reached for my cellphone that was being kept safe in his zippered pocket and he jumped about 2 feet back. He wouldn't let me walk on one side of him for a bit. He went under hypnosis and pulled himself out. He had all sorts of excuses, and I was getting suspicious but he kept switching things up and I was really none the wiser.
After our friend left we rode the ferris wheel one more time together and then we left the fair. He told me that I should drive to UVM (the school that we both went too) and I did. I drove to my old dorm, since it was our anniversary I figured that we should go there. We walked to the place where he first kissed me and kissed each other. I smiled and said, "Well, that wasn't so awkward," and he responded, "hopefully this won't be either."
Charlie got down on one knee and couldn't get the ring out of his pocket because there was too much stuff there. He stood up, said, "Well, I guess it is...", handed me some of the things out of his pocket and then went back down on one knee, pulled out my ring and asked me to marry him. Although I didn't remember saying yes (I was too happy), Charlie insists that I did, in fact, take the time to say yes.
