My Christmas Proposal
So about a month ago, my bf and I were shopping at the mall. We walked passed a jewlery store and I noticed a holiday catalog, so I grabbed it. As we sat in the food court, having a pretzel, I saw the exact engagment ring I wanted ~ at a price he was looking for lol. We both agreed that we'd have to come back and find out more about it, and real soon because it was only a holiday catalog. Well, with the hustle and bustle of the season, it took us a few times before we actually made it back there. So finally about 2 weeks ago, we found time to go back. We sat down with the sales associate and looked at the ring, asked a million questions and tried it on. She said if we got it right then and there, she'd take an extra $50 off. I just looked at my bf and said, "I dunno, it's up to you boss". He looked at the lady and said, "Yeah, we can do that". Now, as excited as I was about him actually taking that giant step and buying the ring, it wasn't official. I had no idea when he was planning on actually proposing. At first I didn't think it was going to be for the holidays. He had seemed dead set on popping the question on a specific date he had already picked out. But then he started saying things that tipped me off that he was gonna do it for Christmas. Like one night we were watching TV and out of nowhere he said, "if I do it for Chrsitmas then it really won't be anything special and dramatic". I just told him that anyway he were to do it would be special and it was entirely up to him as to when he wants to. Even though I was dying to have that damn thing on my finger lol, just knowing he bought it was enough for me. So, flash forward a bit. Christmas eve came and went....no ring. Christmas morning, little brother wakes us up at 5am, we walk across the hall to my mom's house and open presents with everyone. Still no ring yet. A couple hours later we go back to our apartment, sit on the floor infront of our tree and open everything from eachother. Oooo look, I got a couple of perfumes, the griddle and rolling pin I wanted, and a ton of DVDs. Still no ring. Ah yes, and Marc got socks, a video game, stuff for his car and the paintball gun he was dying to get. I began to think maybe I was wrong about getting my ring for Christmas. After stocking stuffers were opened and we sat there just looking at everything we got, Marc looks at the now empty tree and says, "oh I forgot one". He hands me another gift and I open it. It was a bag of Lindtt chocolates, my favorite. I say 'thank you' and put it aside with the rest of the gifts. He then picks it back up and tells me to have one. It was only like 7am so I wasn't in the mood for chocolate. He kept pushing it, "c'mon it's Christmas, just have one." After a minute or so of going back and forth, I finally gave in. He hands me a chocolate and I open the wrapper. Wrapped inside was my ring lol ~ that sneaking goof. And he thoughtfully wrapped the ring in plastic wrap so it wouldn't get chocolate on it. As I sat there smiling down at it, he got on one knee, took the ring from me and asked if I would marry him.....and of course I said yes lol. Suddenly all the Christmas lights seemed to shine a little brighter at that moment.
