Hi I'm new here and have a wedding coming up soon on July 19. I have this fear about cheap weddings. Everyone has a budget but I have been to several weddings where it was just plain obvious they were doing it as cheaply as possible and made it into a fundraiser than anything. Its my pet peeve.
What's the worse cheap wedding you have ever been to? The cheapest one I thought that I went to was held at their family's farm with only 15 people invited (because the less people to feed the less cost). The bride asks: How can I tell people that I am getting married, want gifts but don't want them to come? |

i dont think there is anything wrong with inexpensive weddings, but there are lines you shouldnt cross... like wanting gifts from people and not even inviting them lol. a friend of mine just got married, we all went down to the beach (which was free) and they were married. then we all left and met back up at a local resturaunt where they had gotten the back room and set up a small buffet line. did the toast and cake stuff there and then we went back to the bride and grooms house for drinks and hanging out. really the only things they had to pay for were the priest, and the food, and i thaught it turned out really nice. it was more about friends and family getting together having fun.
soo i think its all about how you do it... not how much you spend... |

No, not saying there is anything wrong with cheap or expensive weddings, just saying that some spend next to nothing simply to not have to dish out money for their event yet expect their guests to dig deep into their pocket books.
